WoW Death Knight Mounts

Just like any other character in World of Warcraft the Death Knight can use mounts for traveling. There is something special about Death Knights though. While other characters can get a normal land mount with level 30 that increases their speed by 60% and a 100% mount at level 60 Death Knight have a large advantage: as they start the game with level 55 they get a mount as part of their starter-package - and that one is a mount with a 100% speed increase.

Unlike other classes that buy their riding skill from a trainer and their mount from a stable master, Death Knights need to earn their mounts as a part of their starting quest chain. First you need to steal a steed out of the Scarlet Crusade's stables. Once that is down you will enter the shadow realm, an alternate world, where you have to convince the former owner of that mount that he will no longer need it. Once that is done you will get a spell for summoning your Death Charger, which has a very special summoning sound. Additionally a Death Knight receives a riding skill of 150, which then allows him to use any other land mount.

Another Death Knight mount feature can be seen at level 70. While other classes need to travel to Shadowmoon Valley in order to train flying and buy their flying mount, the Death Knight simply ports to Ebon Hold where he can obtain the "Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade". This terrifying steed is a very special flying mount, as its flying speed will scale with the rider's riding skill. The Death Knight will have to pay a little extra for this though.
